ELU Projects
The interest in teaching content has shaped the nature of our grant-funded projects, which have recently concentrated on developing virtual patients, interactive scenario-based learning resources which can be used in many different learning styles; for self-Directed Learning, as replacements for paper cases in Problem-Based Learning, for formative assessment, and even as training scenarios in virtual worlds.
The eLearning Unit was the first to to replace the core of its curriculum, the ‘paper’ patient PBL case, with virtual patients, in the JISC-funded G4 project, and the first to develop training scenarios for paramedics in a Virtul World (the JISC-funded ‘Preview’ project.)
